Community Resilience Building Event; 1 year Since Report and The Derecho.

The Morris Model and the City of Morris are hosting a community resilience building event to discuss climate mitigation and adaptations within Morris and Stevens County. This event marks one year since a damaging storm tore through Morris causing millions of dollars in damage and knocking out power across the region. Just 2 months before this storm we completed our community resilience building workshop and received a report the identified our strengths and weaknesses and identified priority actions for the city and county to take. Now we hope to report some results back to our wider community and gather input from community members, community leaders, and Morris Model members.

Please RSVP below for our upcoming Community Resilience Event on Monday May 1st, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 at 412 Atlantic Ave, Morris, MN. This event looks back on the last year of extreme weather and gathers findings from our Community Resilience Building report. We hope to gather insights from community members, local government leaders, and Morris Model member organizations.  We are also exploring having an EV showcase from 4:30-5:30 before the event get's formally started, keep your eyes out for additional information.
