PACE for Business

Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) program - for businesses

Do you own a commercial, agriculture, or industrial business in Stevens County? If so, Property assessed clean energy assessments could greatly help your business save money and save energy!

Check out the video below presentation by the city of Morris Sustainability Project Coordinator, Chris Watkins on the really great advantages of the PACE program.

For further questions or to investigate how PACE financing could be applied to your business or commercial property, feel free to reach out to Chris at (320) 589-3788 or cwatkins@ci.morris.mn.us. You can also reach out to the Stevens County Coordinator at (320) 208-6583. Both are more than happy to help and answer any questions! Visit the Stevens County PACE webpage at www.co.stevens.mn.us/1069/PACE.

The use of the PACE program aligns with and will help achieve the Morris Model's big two goals of producing 80% of the energy consumed in the county by 2030 and reducing energy consumption 30% by 2030.

Action Items

Acttion Items

Below are simple action items that you can do yourself that will have a profound impact!

Learn about or join the Morris and Southwest Prairie Solar Co-op!

This co-op is open to residents in Morris and surrounding Southwest Minnesota including these counties: Big Stone, Brown, Chippewa, Cottonwood, Douglas, Grant, Jackson, Kandiyohi, Lac Qui Parle, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone, Pope, Redwood, Renville, Rock, Stevens, Swift, Traverse, and Yellow Medicine.

In addition to competitive pricing on solar panels, being apart of a co-op you get:

  • Info to help you understand solar. Our vendor-neutral solar experts are here to help you understand how solar works and make the best decision for your energy needs.

  • A direct line to ask specific questions. You can call or email us anytime you need help. We’ll be here now and long after you install solar.

  • Community. You’ll join the growing solar movement. You’ll have a built-in network of support and inspiration from others who, like you, are taking a stand for energy freedom and advancing the clean energy economy.

  • A bigger impact! Going solar creates jobs, and puts energy production and its benefits back in the hands of the people and contributes to cleaner air and water for everyone. A solar co-op amplifies those outcomes exponentially.

Supply Your Home with Renewable Energy - Enroll in the Otter Tail Tailwinds Program

If you are an Otter Tail Power costumer, you can supply your home fully or partially with renewable and clean electricity! Learn more by clicking here.

How it works:

  • Energy is available for purchase in 100-kilowatt-hour blocks. You choose how much you want to buy. Use wind energy to power your entire home or business, or just a few appliances.

  • You can enroll at any time. Once you enroll, you'll start seeing a small additional charge on your monthly electric service statements. This helps cover the cost of adding wind-generated electricity to our resource mix. Learn about the small additional fee here.
